Muslims have been urged to personify the characters and traits of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) of love, care and unity.
This was the message of the lecture delivered by Sheikh FaozulRahman AlHassan at the 4th biennial conference organised by Nasru-Lahi-l-Fatih Society, NASFAT, held in Accra, Ghana last weekend. Speaking on “Managing the Expansion of Dawah, Sheikh Hassan said Muslims should show more unity in all activities in order to grow the Ummah.
“As Ummah, we need to work collectively, share good practices and utilise our talents maximally to make progress. What we do is more important than what we say and we must practice the true teachings of Islam.”
The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Abdul-Wasiu Omotunde-Young, commended NASFAT for its giant strides so far in the area of Dawah, education, economic empowerment among others urging NASFAT’s management to remain focused by inviting people to all that is good.
In his address, the President of NASFAT, Engr. Kamil Bolarinwa said that diversity should not in any way undermine the practice and observance of our religion. “We need to be models of positive values such as tolerance, peace, justice, equity, respect for others, integrity and the likes.”
He called on Muslim elites to do more for Islam. “NASFAT is committed to continuing quality education in all areas. And that’s why we set up Fountain University and make it one of the best in the world among other beneficial projects.”
Also speaking at the event, Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Amb. Femi Abikoye said he was full of joy for having such a huge conference in Ghana.
“Ghana is a second home to millions of Nigerians with over four million Nigerians in Ghana. We have a lot of areas of collaboration. You have also done well in improving the social-economic, trade, investment and religious relationship.” Abikoye concluded.
