NECO backs FG on phasing out second test for unity schools

The Management of the National Examinations Council, (NECO) has thrown its weight behind the Federal Government’s decision to cancel the second phase of the National Common Entrance Screening Test usually conducted by the Council for admission of pupils into the Federal Government Colleges across the country.

Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council, Mallam Abdulrashid Garba who commended the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for the decision said the step would go a long way to further reposition the nation’s education system.
Professor Garba said the Management has already set up a committee to strategize on the implementation of the directive towards ensuring immediate compliance and implementation.
A statement signed by Head of the Information and Public Relations Unit of the Council, Malam Azeez Sani assured all relevant stake holders of the preparedness of NECO to deliver on its mandate to always deliver examinations whose results are trusted worldwide for their credibility.
